Virtual Physiotherapy

CARYphysio is improving access to physiotherapy services by providing patients the care they need from the comfort of their homes / offices and at convenient times.
We focus exclusively on an Active approach to treatment; empowering patients to take back control of their pain.

Cary has over 13 years of clinical physiotherapy experience treating a wide variety of issues. He prides himself on his core values of Science & Research, Relationships, Self-Care & Empowerment, and Access. Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals and Cary aims to be your first stop the moment you start to worry about a symptom.

Cary completed his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy degree from McMaster University in 2009 after a 4 year B.A. Specialization in Kinesiology where he graduated with honours from Western in 2007. Cary was very involved throughout his education as he was the 2008-2009 PT2 class representative and played Varsity Lacrosse both at Western and McMaster.

After graduation from his Masters, Cary went on to become a Fellow in the Canadian Association of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT). This Diploma program takes 5 years to complete and focuses on advanced / evidence-based assessment and treatment techniques including spinal manipulation. After completing this Diploma program, Cary became certified in Integrated Dry Needling (CIDN) in 2015. Dry Needling is a technique that utilizes acupuncture needles to release muscle knots and normalize muscle length and function.

In addition to his CIDN and FCAMPT designations, Cary has also completed courses in therapeutic taping and a Lumbo-Pelvic Certification program which focused on in-depth assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of low back pain.

After years of specialized education and practice in an out-patient clinic, Cary began to give back to the physiotherapy community. For the past 8 years, Cary has been involved with the University of Toronto, Masters of Physiotherapy program. He holds a faculty appointment (Adjunct Lecturer) and has been both a Clinical Preceptor for students in their final placement and an award-winning Group Facilitator reviewing neuromusculoskeletal cases and discussing clinical reasoning with students. CARYphysio continues to give back - take a look at our Climate Change page and the Free Physio Program.

Outside of his clinical practice, Cary spins regularly, plays basketball, squash, and volleyball. He enjoys camping and watching his home-town Raptors win Championships.
